Senate Debates Junk Food in Schools

If passed this joint-sponsored bill will update the "disco-era nutrition standards" applied to schools foods.

Man, when I think back to what my high school cafeteria offered, I could eat any number of burgers, fried chicken sandwiches and hamburgers. Luckily, I didn't eat that too often--I mostly got the salad bar and "Deli Day" which was make your own deli sandwich. But I'm not gonna lie, I liked pizza day too Wink

I understand the senate is supposed to be taking the farm bill up for debate in the next day or so -- let's hope it provides more money for fruit and veggie growers, less for commmodity crops (think HFCS! -- i can't believe we subsidize cheap junk food to such an extent!), more for sustainable ag farmers, less for the huge agribusinesses!
