An important part of The EatingWell Diet is identifying the situations and foods that trigger you to overeat--and learning how to "outsmart" those triggers. What are some of your eating triggers and solutions for "beating" them?

Food triggors- sugar for sure. If I try to have a small piece of candy or something it really isn't enough for me. Makes me begin to overeat.

Stress/pressure also seems to greatly increase my appetite.

Going to restaurants...for some reason i think that because someone else is serving me, the portion sizes don't count!! So when i am recording in my diary I realize if i'd cooked at home my serving of fish would have been half that size, for example! My solution #1, if i know where we're going i plan ahead what i'm going to eat. Also i decide before i order to take home half for tomorrow's lunch (or my boyfriend to eat) and that usually leaves a reasonable portion size!

oh there are so many! My main triggers are salty foods, especially french fries, I am a huge fan!!! and they are making me huge for it LOL!!! so I have to try and stay away from places that serve them or just really get my willpower in gear and just say no!
