Do you have any suggestions for future EatingWell Taste Tests? We would love to hear what the EatingWell community wants put to the test by our evolving tasting panels.

I'd love to see a taste test on those lower-fat and skim milks that have been altered to taste creamier. Often they have a 1% which claims to taste like whole milk and a skim which claims to taste like 2%. I get the skim variety, but think it really doesn't taste as creamy as real 2%.

Yes, we did a taste test on whole wheat pastas in our February/March 2005 issue of EatingWell Magazine. The tested brands were, Ronzoni/Prince Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Blend Pasta, DeBoles Organic Whole Wheat Spaghetti Style Pasta, Bionature Organic Whole Wheat Pasta, Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Whole Grain Spaghetti and Westbrae Natural Organic Whole Wheat Spaghetti. The winner, given an "Excellent" rating was Ronzoni/Prince Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Blend Pasta. Within the next week I plan to post this taste test on EatingWell.com

Reduced fat sour creams
High fiber cereals
Sugar free ice creams
Trans fat free/low fat margarines
Whole grain and/or buckwheat pancake mixes
Spice and herb blends (you might have to categorize them by use, e.g steak seasonings, veggie seasonings, etc.)

A few suggestions for taste tests. Smiler

I would like to see a comparison on flavored/sparkling drinks. Those flavored with "natural" fruit flavors or others purported to be healthy alternatives to sugary drinks and softdrinks. Or, for that matter, a discussion of alternatives to softdrinks in general, whatever the options (I don't even know enough to know if there is a wide range to do a comparison of).
