I have discovered a new whole wheat pasta that is really delicious: Racconto. In New Jersey I can get it at King's. It's available at Giant Eagle stores also. It even comes in more shapes than the usual penne and rotelli. Look for it.

My favorites of those listed in the taste test are the Healthy Harvest Blend and the Bionature pastas. I have tried a lot of whole wheat pastas that are gummy and even "bitter" tasting. These pass the adult and kid test. My kids have never questioned (or not liked) either one of these pastas!

Here's a tip that I've discovered regarding whole-wheat pasta (actually pasta blends, as my family has thus for called a complete embargo on 100% whole wheat!) I find that if I "over-cook" it just a little, it texturally resembles traditional pasta a lot more and my family is more willing to eat it without complaint. In fact my husband, the most actively "anti-whole wheat pasta eater" in the family didn't notice it was Healthy Harvest spaghetti underneath his Bolognese until I told him. Of course then he SWEARS he could tell, but still...he ate every last strand!
