I've been using a new sugar substitute called Whey Low. I was wondering if anyone at EatingWell has heard of it or tried it. It's made from a combination of glucose, fructose and lactose. It's the only sugar substitute that I've tried that's all natural and that actually tastes & bakes just like sugar (1 for 1). They even have a brown sugar (Whey Low Gold) and a powdered sugar.

I first heard about it on a South Beach Diet mail list. I've been using the regular Whey Low granular for baking (like EW's Morning Glory muffins). I use the Whey Low D for things like drinks, cereal and yogurt (I make my own). It's pricey just like most sugar subs, but since I have cut back on my sweets, it's worth the price for such a wonderful product.

Thanks...
Patti

I use it too, Patti. I like the fact that it's all natural and bakes just like sugar. It doesn't impact my blood sugar levels either.
