How do you balance your diet on a day-to-day basis? Do you consciously do it or do you just eat what you want? Do you plan out what you're going to eat at each meal or just go with the flow? What tricks to you employ to make sure you're eating a balanced diet?

Our pantry and fridge are filled with healthy items. So, I know when I go for a snack, it is an ok item- no trans fats and no HFCS, low fat and high fiber and good fats.
Some time during the day, I think back on the number and variety of fruits and vegetables I have eaten that day. I'm aiming for 7-10 servings with an emphasis on the veggie side if I'm up a pound or two. Works great for me.
Breakfast stays the same for 6 days a week.
