Hi,

I have read in a bunch of different articles how good it is to eat fish, Omega-3's can prevent cancer, heart disease, etc.... however, I am allergic to fish and shell fish. So what should I do? Any Omega-3 supplements all have fish oil. Is there anything I can take to get Omega-3 without the fish? Does any one else have this problem?

Any info is a big help!

Samantha, it depends on what in the fish you are reacting to. I have problems with the high iodine content in fish (both fresh and sea) but I am able to use the fish oil pills with no problems. If you knew better what component of the fish you were reacting to you might be able to use the pills.

Other than that walnuts and some other plant oils have Omega 3's just not as much as fish or the fish oil pills.

Oh I forgot Flax ... both the seed and the oil. But you need to grind the seed everything I've read said that the seeds go through you undigested. We sprinkle ground flax seed on our oatmeal in the mornings. You could sprinkle it on lots of thinsg.
