I guess we all have them. Can openers, melon ballers, mini graters, measuring spoons, all sorts of gadgets. I found a new use for my garlic press. I love to make key lime pies. Getting the live juice out of those teeny limes was always a lot of work. This year I thought 'I gotta try something else. Reaming out those little limes takes a lot of time and effort.' So I looked in my gadget drawer and saw my garlic press just sitting there looking very forelorn. 'Hey' I thought, 'that looks like the perfect size for a half piece of key lime'. And you know, it cut down my time by 75%! I cut the limes in half, remove the more visible seeds with the tip of a knife, drop the half into the garlic press and close it up and squeeze. LIME JUICE...without all the squirting and mess I usually end up with. For me it's the perfect little key lime juicer.
Have you found new uses for any of your little gadgets?
