Did the recent scare about contaminated pet food affect you? Has it made you think twice about what you feed your pet?
We started visiting a holistic vet when we got our pup Kayla. He's a proponent of the raw food diet, so we've been feeding her a modified raw diet along with Innova Evo, which is the only dry food he would recommend at the time (though I've found another brand, Organix, which I think is probably good as well).
We usually buy her "better" treats as well, but today when I heard that treats were contaminated as well, I ran over and checked the ingredient lists! One actually contains wheat gluten, so I'll not give her any of those (my vet friend said to avoid anything with wheat gluten at this time).

I was thankful that the Science Diet dog food by Hills that our 2 dogs have always eaten - was not on the recalled list!! Our dogs cannot have treats anymore - since our 1 dog became diabetic! They are slowly not looking for them - those begging eyes made me feel so mean!!
That was however a terrible scare for pet owners!!
I was happy my baby's favorite dog food, Purina Healthy Choice, was not on the list when that scare occurred. As far as treats, the only one she(Mimi) will eat is "Baa-Baa Que" which is all-natural lambs' lungs that have been roasted. The vet says that's what he feeds his baby, since it is all-natural. I found it at Pet-Smart if you're interested.
