Palm Beach's Town Council voted to block chain restaurants from opening in their town. It was first proposed in 2006 and voters will add their two cents this spring. Apparently the town doens;t want to find itself inundated with fast-food drive-ins, but would consider allowing chains like PF Changs and Ruth's Chris Steak House.

I'm not sure how they'll be able to prevent McDonald's from opening but not PF Changs--it will be interested to see how that pans out.

I'd guess that the ordinance they adopted to restrict fast food joints is a very interesting read indeed.
