Is there anything healthy about your workplace?

We have a rowing machine upstairs that we can use. THere's a field across the street and I bring my dog to work so I walk her at lunchtime. We don't ahve vending machines in our immediate area and, since I work at EatingWell, there's healthy food around most of the time for lunch, etc. THere's always a bowl of almonds at the front desk, sometimes fresh fruit too.

One of the healthiest things about my office is that no one brings in junk food! Not having a lot of food available is a big deterrent to mindless snacking. Another great thing is that my employer is constantly offering health incentives to employees; for example I've taken several workshops on things like Nordic walking and pilates. Every little bit helps!

Our workplace allows us to take over unused conference rooms at lunch room for exercise. I try do yoga the 4 days of the week I'm in the office. They also graciously allow us to dial in from home and with gas prices I've been working from home 1 day a week for years now.

I work for a marketing company and we are promoting the new Snapple Antioxidant Water, so we have tons of it at the office. Everyone has been drinking them instead of soda and coffee during the day. They have flavors like Tropical Mango and Dragofruit. Everyone has their own favorite!

Our office really works to bring in healthy options for meetings when we plan a going-away gathering or some such event. Also, we've refrigerators, microwave ovens, and convection ovens. At my desk, I have a huge drawer of things:
1) genuine ceramic beautiful plate, bowl and tea mug to take care of myself every day
2) Kashi cereal packs (150 calories)
3) soup in a can
4) fruit cups (I prefer the Dole Splenda cups)
5) nuts
6) cranberries and raisins
7) back-up mustard and tobasco (current ones are in the office frig)
8) back-up vinagrette dressing
9) low cal wheat buns (80 cals each)

The frig always has some labeled items of mine:
mustard, tobasco, low-cal shredded cheese, fresh spinach, and vege burgers.

Our city is famous for walkability and healthy living so my employer encourages staff to walk/bike to meetings around town--which many of us have to do for work.
